The Queen B of Food Allergy
Here's my interview with my sister, Sarah Boudreau-Romano. She is an allergist at Ann and Robert H. Lurie Children's Hospital of Chicago, and Director of the Food Allergy Support and Education. (WOW!! What a title!) She's more widely known as The Allergist Mom.
Well, to me she's my older sister - and closest friend, along with my younger sister, Maya. Sarah is not only an allergist, but she's a mother to three children with food allergies. Believe it or not, she was an allergist well before she had children with food allergies.
Sarah opens up in this interview about the difficulties many parents face when raising children with food allergies. It's a tough topic to talk about because it hits so close to home - for both of us. But it's critical. Did you know one in every 13 children are diagnosed with food allergies? That means, either you or someone you are friends with probably has a child with food allergies.
Sarah calls this an "epidemic." And this is a reality that we all now face. I hope this interview helps give you added perspective and knowledge -- and perhaps, even more empathy for those among us with food allergy.
