Flower Magnet for (Flameless) Candles
I have a bunch of faux flowers left over from a previous project. I LOVE them, and I was searching for a cool craft idea to incorporate them somehow. I ran into a Pinterest post from JoAnn's about transforming your flowers into MAGNETS! I thought it was genius. But then, I was like, "hold on a second...!" Flower magnets for flameless candles!! YES! Flameless candles are usually so boring -- and this is a super fun way to beautify them in an unexpected way. The possibilities are ENDLESS. Baby showers, weddings, parties, holidays, or JUST BECAUSE!!
Here's what you need...
- Faux Flowers
- Magnets (The next time I do this, I will use shiny silver magnets so it won't matter so much if they are visible on the candle.)
- Glue (I used Gorilla Glue, but use whatever super strong glue you prefer.)
- Wire Cutters
- Flameless Candle
Here's how you do it...
1. First, use your wire cutters to carefully snip the stem off. Try to get it as flush as possible - but you don't want the flower to fall apart so a very small "nub" of the stem will have to remain.
2. Smear a small amount of glue onto one side of the magnet. And press firmly onto the flower. (Note: You need to be slightly aggressive with this part (and patient). The magnet should adhere to as much of the green plastic leaf as possible to give it a good stick. This part could take 3 - 5 minutes. This is how JoAnn recommended glueing on the magnets, but it may be a ton easier to use a glue gun.)
3. Once the magnet is securely glued to the backside of the flower, grab another magnet and your flameless candle. Place your flower magnet on the outside of the candle, and the other magnet on the inside so the flower stays in place! Best part about this -- the flowers are totally interchangeable, and your flameless candles are completely unharmed in the process!! (I know how pricey the flameless candles can be!)
