Not just for the kids!  Gimme s'more S'MORES!

Not just for the kids!  Gimme s'more S'MORES!

Nothing says "camping" more than S'MORES!  While I like the IDEA of camping - it's really not my thing.  I hate bugs and snakes -- and I have a VERY active imagination!  So, indoor camping is my answer.  With that in mind, I made it my mission to put my spin on the traditional s'more!

I know it looks like a ton of chocolate chips and marshmallows - but I promise you it will melt down and be just right!!

Right out of the oven -- Using the convection setting, we are able to achieve that campfire marshmallow look!

Here's what you need...

  1. Frozen Waffles (I used low fat, whole wheat Eggo Waffles)
  2. Mini marshmallows
  3. Chocolate Chips
Grab a waffle and let's get camping!  Sort of.... Indoor s'mores at their finest.

Here's how you make it...

  1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees -- I used the convection setting so the heat would bake the s'more evenly.
  2. Place a generous piece of tin foil onto a baking dish. (I used a circular cake pan.)
  3. Place your frozen waffle on the foil.
  4. Add a heaping handful of chocolate chips.
  5. Then add a heaping handful of mini marshmallows!
  6. Place in oven, UNCOVERED for a few minutes - until the marshmallows are melty and have started to brown.
  7. Loosely COVER the s'more for the remaining baking time (tent the foil - you don't want it touching the marshmallows!).  Total bake time is 8 - 9 minutes.
SUH-WEET!!  A little goes a long way -- Clearly, I had one too many!

The chocolate chips and marshmallows melt perfectly into the waffle.   Cut the waffle into four triangles - and serve right away!
